Reflective Practice

Overview

Learn why and how making time and space to reflect back on an experience is a key component of successful learning with the Creative Schools model.

Reflective Practice is the ability to reflect critically on ideas, actions, and outcomes; to question and challenge conventions and assumptions; and make inventive connections by associating things that are not usually related. In a classroom setting, reflective practice encourages the individual―on their own terms and in their own ways―to re-encounter, re-imagine, and re-frame ‘their’ experience of ‘the’ experience.

This session gives practical tips on making Reflective Practice part of the classroom routine when focusing on the Five Habits of Learning.

Ideal for teachers and school leaders interested in Capabilities and School Improvement. AITSL Standard 3: Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning.
